Introducing – Active Trainer Rachel

Client Turned Trainer

Rachel (as seen in picture below) first joined us as a client, interested in our Active Kickboxing Fitness Programme and had a passion for the sport. From as early as 2013, Rachel joined our regular kickboxing classes, looking to improve her fitness in a fun and unique way.

Fast forward 2 years later, in October 2015, with her passion burning and having a flair for exercise, Rachel decided to take up our WAKO-Accredited Active Kickboxing Fitness Trainer Certification (Level 1), to take things to the next level. She had a deep desire within her heart to coach, nurture and help women to improve their fitness in a fun, sustainable and exciting manner.

An aspiring teacher and currently undergoing training at NIE (National Institute of Education), she maintains a healthy balance of work while fanning the flames of her passion (in kickboxing).

After her finishing her teaching hours (in the day) at NIE, Rachel dives in to train at our (Active Red) kickboxing classes during the evenings. This healthy work-passion mix allows Rachel to actively seek out a career (as a teacher), whilst developing her passion (in kickboxing).

But that’s not all, this feisty trainer-in-training takes over our classes from time-to-time to practice her teaching hours for our fitness classes! You’ll be sure to catch her quite often at our center, whether it’s training to improve her kickboxing skills or teaching to develop her coaching capabilities!

Kickboxing Fitness is an all-rounded Exercise

Weights & Resistance Training to Get Fit!

What is Weight / Resistance Training all about?

Plus, how can it help you to achieve the goals you’re aspiring towards?

Previously, we’ve talked about how you can accelerate weight loss through weight training.

So what are some avenues you can consider to start doing your own weight / resistance training?

Exercise Breakthrough! – Small Group Training

Let’s be honest, most of the times it can be really tough to exercise on your own ain’t it?

There are just days when work / school / life seems to bog you down till you’re exasperated. You feel exhausted.

When it comes towards the end of work, you realise that you have 1 final thing to do before you can rest in the comfort of your home… You guessed it right, it’s exercise!

With the stress amounted and accumulated during work, you find that you have barely the strength (at least you think you so), to pull yourself to the gym to exercise.

Does the above bring about many memories? Is that something you can relate to?

If so, are you doing anything to change things or make things different?

When it all boils down to exercise, you really need 2 things:

  1. MOTIVATION

  2. SUPPORT

Whether it’s expressively intrinsic or extrinsic motivation, as long as you get some form of motivation, that will propel you 1 step closer towards your goal.

Accelerate Weight Loss with Gym Training

About Gym / Fitness Training

We’ve come to an age where information is readily available, even right to our fingertips with just a simple Google search.

Today, we are receiving an average of 174 newspaper worth of information, IN A DAY! (source) That’s a 200-fold increase in information received from an average human back in the 1980s.

Despite having access to information so readily and near instantaneously, there are may myths which still have yet to be dispelled with regards to Gym / Fitness Training for women. And we are here to uncover the truth to these myths.

MYTH 1: Gym Training will make me HUGE

Unless you’re taking supplements such as growth hormones, steroids or weight gainer, for women, you will most certainly not grow to HUGE proportions.

FACT

The likes of body builders and the visual-forecast of one obtaining such a physique is almost impossible (for women), without the use of the supplements mentioned earlier.

One also has to examine the time-frame under which one goes through a gym / fitness / strength / resistance training programme. It can be as short as a month, or up to years. But nevertheless, even with years of training (and we’re talking about 5 years ++), females generally will not grow to become extraordinarily large / bulky.

Instead, getting yourself into the gym and lifting weights will help your body to increase in lean muscle mass. So what does this mean?

Here are a few good reasons to have more muscles in your body:

  1. Increased Metabolism (body’s natural calorie-burning ability)
  2. Looking more Toned (less flabby-looking)
  3. More Active, Less Lethargic

Our accredited Active Kickboxing Fitness programme focuses on the use of kickboxing, to improve your fitness levels!
