At Active Zone we welcome all! Whether you’ve been with us since 2004 or 2020, we consistently ensure that each and every client leaves the gym satisfied with their workout.
First up we have Renee Chan – a client who was introduced to us by her cousin who was our client back in the early 2000s!
Despite not being used to working out, her time here has definitely helped to kickstart the healthy habit of regular exercise and now has incorporated it into her weekly routine. As a result, it is clear that not only has her fitness improved, so has her commitment to her personal goals.
We’ve got a women only group exercise class called ‘Active Circuit Training System’ or otherwise known as ACTS where you’ll learn how to make use of weights to your advantage!

This week, we’ll be taking you through 1-by-1 on each of our classes and what an amazing workout you can expect!
Active Kickboxing Fitness
Our flagship Kickboxing Fitness Class is designed to help you lose weight, improve your cardiovascular fitness, tone your muscles and build strength. You get to learn countless kickboxing combinations and drills.
You will also get to focus on specific kickboxing techniques in every class. This complete body workout is great for anyone who wants to improve their cardiovascular fitness.
Classes are structured into 3 main levels;
Beginners
Intermediate
Advanced
Why is Kickboxing a great workout?
Kickboxing is a great workout for many reasons…
1) Kickboxing uses your ENTIRE body
You get to punch AND kick.
This means that you engage your entire body to perform punches and kicks, ultimately creating an effective total-body workout.
With total-body workouts, you get to burn WAY more calories compared to just the usual exercises (such as bicep curls, squats, etc.)
2) Kickboxing lowers your Stress Levels
Don’t you feel good when you punch and kick stuff? (legally we hope! ;))
You get that ‘feel good‘ feeling after completing your workout with those punches and kicks going at full power!
That feeling is the ‘endorphins‘ that your body is releasing. It’s those natural chemicals your body produces after a good exercise session. These endorphins lowers your stress levels, improving your stress management and boosts you positively for tomorrows’ battles!
3) Kickboxing Tones Your Body Up
Kickboxing is actually a form of resistance training, which in turn stimulates lean muscle growth.
With lean muscle growth building in your body, you experience what is known as ‘Toning Up‘. Toning up is essentially your body having more definition and looking more ‘fit‘.
