This week, we resumed classes at Active Zone for the first time since circuit breaker measures were imposed.
We were so happy to see so many of you come back for classes! One such client is Shi Han 🙂

If you have no experience, don’t worry because nearly all of our clients come into our classes without any kickboxing (or even martial arts experience)!

With so much in store for your child to learn, let’s have a look at some the major benefits your child can gain with the sport of Kickboxing
1) Self Confidence
Have you ever met someone with low self confidence and esteem?
Chances are, that he or she might have had terrible encounter(s) in their early days where their self confidence and esteem was broken.
Kickboxing works to promote self confidence by positively affirming their physical and mental capabilities.
For example, being able to deliver 1 punch accurately to a target might be a simple task for us adults. But for a child, it could mean the whole world to them if they have never had a chance to actualise their physical abilities!
Gradually, with repeated training and facing similar situations, what is being slowly built is confidence in their own abilities. Like a building whose foundations are built piece by piece or rock by rock, this will form a sturdy foundation of positive self esteem. Ultimately, this will carry over into their academic and personal life!
2) Total-Body Strength
Kickboxing engages the entire body, from head to toe!
Punches utilise the upper body, whilst kicks utilise the lower body. Being an ambidextrous activity, it engages both the left and the right side of your body as well!
This ensures steady and constant development of muscles and strength in all areas of your body! The result will be a stronger child both physically and mentally!
Simple but effective body weight exercise are conducted in a safe and orderly manner, to ensure that each child does the exercise properly and effectively. Body weight exercise (such as squats, sit ups) are a great and simple way to build up the strength of a child. They are simple to do and contains low risks of potential injury.
With increased total-body strength, you might face your child getting stronger when he or she challenges you to an arm wrestling match! 😉
