Going to the gym is great, but what if there’s an alternative fitness training that you can take up to ramp up your progress?
Perhaps another form of training that is fun, exciting, intense and sweat-busting?
How about giving Kickboxing a try?
Kickboxing engages your body in a whole different way!
It engages your;
Upper body (derived from the hard-hitting punches you throw)
Core (from the rotational punches and balance in the exercise)
Lower body (from those awesome power-packed kicks you throw)
Heart (from the non-stop punching/kicking combinations we give you)
With your entire body engaged throughout the session, it is definitely something you wouldn’t want to miss out on!
Make the most out of your 1-hour training with us!
Apart from giving your body a really great workout, learn various kickboxing combinations to improve your motor skills, hand-eye coordination, footwork and stamina!
Did we also mention that the harder you hit the bags (or pads), the more calories you burn?
Another great benefit of kickboxing is that it relieves stress and gives you that ‘feel-good’ factor after finishing the workout!
While burning tons of calories in this jam-packed 1-hour kickboxing session, you also get to tone up your body with every punch and kick because all your muscles will be engaged throughout the session!
If you’ve been experiencing a plateau in your fitness journey, why not take up kickboxing and accelerate your growth!
Personal training, once a privilege only the affluent can afford, is fast gaining acceptance and popularity among individuals who want effective, personalised programmes to achieve their fitness goals.
Today, an increasing number of people ā novices and veteran exercisers alike ā are working with personal trainers, because they offer a practical and affordable means of getting and staying healthy.
Customised to meet your individual needs and achieve your desired results, every Active Red personal training programme is managed by a private coach.
Your coach is a certified fitness professional who will:
ā¢ Motivate you
ā¢ Monitor your performance
ā¢ Work and share the responsibilities of your fitness programme with you
ā¢ Encourage and support you as you progress towards your fitness goals
Tailor-Made TrainingĀ
Active Red’s personal trainers wear many hats and play many roles ā serving not only as coaches, but also as confidants, role models, educators and motivators.
Depending on your needs and busy work schedule, you can opt for:
ā¢ Regular sessions of two to three times a week You are more likely to stick to your programme because you are accountable to someone else (your personal trainer) for your exercise time.
ā¢ Occasional/Periodic exercise sessions You are the busy executive or veteran exerciser, seeing a trainer only on occasion to update your existing exercise regimen, or for periodic fitness testing.
Personal attention during exercise is the primary role of personal trainers. From the fundamentals of strength and aerobic training to the proper and safe execution of various exercises, you will be taught a balanced approach to fitness.
Personal training is not a luxury. It’s a great investment of your time for your health and well-being.

Our Active Trainers, Valencia and Nazimah, recently went for the SWF NCAP Level 1 Weightlifting Certification course from 6 – 7 January 2018!
After 2 days of intensive Theory lessons and Technical training, our 2 Active Trainers have successfully graduated from the course!
Testimonial from Valencia
“The NCAP Level 1 Weightlifting Course was great!
It was a very valuable and enriching experience. Coach Wu is really knowledgeable and I have learnt a lot from himšš»
In addition, I have also re-learnt many things (techniques especially) which used to be my (wrong) foundation prior to this course.
The course gave me significant insights into how weightlifting is essential across all sports, and the how weightlifting sets theĀ basic strength foundation which can be used as a powerful stepping stone across various (if not all) sports.”
With such a great and insightful experience gained from this SWF NCAP Weightlifting Course, you can be sure that our Active Trainers (Valencia and Nazimah) will be using it across our 2 awesome gym group classes;
Featuring the Certificates for our Amazing Graduates!
Certificate of Achievement – Valencia Yip (Senior Active Trainer)
Certificate of Achievement – Nazimah (Active Trainer)
Benefits of Weightlifting for WOMEN (That every woman should know)
1. Lose Body Fat
Weight training builds muscle, as lean muscle increases so does metabolism. A higherĀ metabolismĀ means that you will burn more calories all day long.Ā Studies foundĀ that the the average woman who strength trains two to three times a week for two months will gain nearly two pounds of muscle and will lose 3.5 pounds of fat. For each pound of muscle you gain, youāll burn 35 to 50 more calories per day. That can really add up over the long term; for example, 4 extra pounds of muscle can burn up to 10 extra pounders per year!
2. Gain Strength Without Bulking
One of the most common reasons women avoid weight training is because they are afraid of ābulking.ā This is a misconception as it physically can not happen. Women simply donāt have the testosterone to build muscle like men. Women have 10 to 30 times less testosterone than men and have a much harder time gaining size from strength training. Insead women develop muscle definition and strength without the size.
3. Decrease Risk of Osteoporosis
Weight training not only strengthens muscles, it strengthens your bones. Weight training increases bone density, which reduces the risk of fractures and broken bones.Ā Research has also shownĀ weight training can increase spinal bone density to create a strong and healthy spine.
4. Reduce Risk of Injury
Weight training also increases strength in connective tissues and joints. Strong joints, ligaments, and tendons are important to prevent injury and can relieve pain from osteoarthritis. Strengthening muscles and connective tissue will make injury from daily tasks and routine exercise less likely, and can even improve sports performance.
5. Burn More Calories
Weight training has been proven to raise your metabolism for up to 24 hours after a workout. The more intense the workout the more calories are burned. After an intense workout there is moreĀ Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption, or EPOC, meaning there is an increase in oxygen consumption, helping break down fat stores in the body.
6. Improve Posture and Reduce Back Pain
Weight-training will strengthen your back, shoulders, and core, helping to correct bad posture so that you can stand taller, with shoulders back and spine straight. A stronger back and core will also prevent lower back pain
7. Enhance Mood and Reduce Stress
Exercise and weight-training release endorphins. Endorphins are neurotransmitters that prevent pain, improve mood, and fight depression. An increased in endorphins naturally reduces stress and anxiety. Endorphins also stimulate the mind, improving alertness and boosting energy. Weight-training can brighten your entire day or help you combat a bad one.
